Plaka - Lavender Villa
Lavender villa is a residential property of a total area of 260 square meters, located in a 4300 sq m sloping plot above the quaint village of Plaka. Situated in an extremely prominent position, Lavender villa boasts unique views towards the island of Spinalonga and the Cretan sea endless blue.
The designing team aimed at high aesthetics in combination with ergonomics and harmony. Main goal was all the living areas of the residence to be oriented in such a way as to provide visual escapes to the view ahead. The villa is divided in two levels and due to the inclination, a part of the lowest level is placed under the surface of the ground, contributing to the architectural result and its energy footprint. Domes, whitewashed walls, natural stone and wood create an absorbing study of modern Greek island architecture.Covered and green living areas, elaborately landscaped gardens, BBQ and an infinity pool make up the villa’s surrounding area. The peculiar placement of the pool at the top of the property, enables the occupant to enjoy the full effect of the elevated position and the surrounding area.
Giorgos Gounalakis carried out the project management of this property during his 21 years as shareholder and Head of Construction Department in his previous company.
